Its headquarters in Crewe are home to over 4,000 workers who are responsible for the development, design and production of Bentley vehicles. These workers utilize techniques passed through generations and apply them to cutting-edge technology in the automotive industry. This is a characteristic of British manufacturing at its best.
Personalisation
Bentley's Mulliner division allows customers to design their car. The customers sit at a set of images referred to as "mood stations" and select a series of photos ranging from scenic vistas to sporting events - that are inspiring to them. Each time a selection is made, a pattern appears and reveals the model and color preferences for the personalized Bentley.

The resulting configuration is then loaded onto individual R.F.I.D.-enabled keys, which are presented to the guests in a custom key case. The keys can also be fitted with Bentley Muliner Personalised Welcome Lamps, which illuminate the door-opening path with the owner's name or emblem as they are approaching the vehicle.
Bentley estimates that it takes around 500 man-hours to construct and construct the Mulsanne. The inability to adopt modern technology is the primary factor to this time-consuming effort. Instead of employing a machine for spacers to the perfectly matched leather seats, workers at the Crewe factory do it by hand. And rather than using the car's built-in sensors guide it to parallel and perpendicular parking spots, drivers have to do it by hand.
The event also saw Bentley showcased its Mulliner personalization capabilities with one particular example - the Mulsanne W.O. The Mulsanne W.O. Edition pays homage to the founding father of the brand, William Osler Bentley. The 100 limited edition cars include the key, which displays a piece of the 1930 8 Litre crankshaft.
